“Papagoideparadiis” a unique space inhabited by dozens of magnificent exotic birds. We have created a warm, caring home for them, where parrots can live in a friendly community and welcome their guests with enthusiasm. The experienced team of The Cranberries has created an environment where our feathered friends feel at home, and where everyone can meet our fluffy residents. We invite you and your loved ones – children, friends, loved ones – to visit us and have a unique experience with parrots. Please read our rules before you visit.
«Papagoide Paradiis» (eng. Parrot Paradise) is the first and largest parrot contact zoo in the Baltic States!
We are located in the very heart of Tallinn — in the Old Town at Valli 4, right next to the famous Viru Gates.
More than 300 parrots of 20 different species live here. In our unique space, you can meet playful budgerigars, sunny conures, the majestic macaw, charming cockatiels, African greys, and many other feathered beauties. Some of them can even be adopted and taken home!
Our birds are very curious and friendly — they eat treats right from your hand, love attention, understand human speech, and some of them can even talk!

White Cockatoo
The White Cockatoo is a remarkably gentle and graceful bird, instantly drawing attention with its snow-white plumage and expressive crest. This parrot is very intelligent, emotional, and exceptionally affectionate, easily forming a close bond with humans. White Cockatoos love interaction; they often express their feelings loudly and can demand attention like little feathered performers. In the wild, these birds live in Australia, forming noisy flocks and flying over forests and savannas. Thanks to their gentle nature and stunning appearance, the White Cockatoo is considered one of the most charming parrots.
Harlequin Macaw
The Harlequin Macaw is an incredibly vibrant and sociable bird that starts chattering excitedly the moment it notices people. Its feathers shimmer with a full spectrum of colours, making it look as if it was born to impress. Harlequins love mimicking different sounds, often amusingly copying alarm clocks or short phrases. Their favourite treat is crunchy apples — and they will always choose the juiciest piece. The Harlequin Macaw is a hybrid of the Blue-and-Yellow Macaw and the Scarlet Macaw. It does not exist in the wild, which makes it even more unique.
Galah (Rose-breasted Cockatoo)
The Galah, or Rose-breasted Cockatoo, is an exceptionally charming bird with soft pink plumage and silver-grey wings. Friendly and affectionate by nature, it loves company and enjoys being involved in everything happening around it. Galahs are intelligent and curious, easily learning simple tricks and eagerly engaging in play. In the wild, they live in Australia and are easily recognised by their loud, cheerful calls and lively behaviour. Thanks to their striking appearance and spirited personality, Galahs are considered some of the most charismatic parrots.
African Grey
The African Grey — one of the most intelligent parrots in the world — is instantly recognisable by its attentive, almost human-like gaze. Its elegant silver-grey plumage and bright red tail make it stand out among other species. African Grey parrots possess extraordinary abilities to imitate human speech and intonation, sometimes so accurately that it is nearly impossible to distinguish them from a person. They are highly sensitive birds, forming deep bonds with their owners and requiring regular interaction and mental stimulation. In the wild, they inhabit the tropical forests of Africa, living in noisy flocks and known for their cautious behaviour and remarkable cognitive skills.
Eclectus Parrot
The Eclectus Parrot is a truly remarkable species, immediately standing out due to the striking difference between males and females: males are emerald-green, while females are deep red and blue, as if they belong to different species. These parrots are calm, highly intelligent, and possess a gentle, thoughtful personality. Eclectus parrots learn words very well and enjoy “talking”, but do so in a balanced, quiet manner. In the wild, they live in New Guinea and the surrounding islands, inhabiting forests and feeding on fruits and tender shoots. Thanks to their unique appearance and friendly temperament, the Eclectus is considered one of the most beautiful and harmonious parrot species.
Sun Conure
The Sun Conure is a radiant little burst of tropical sunshine. Its plumage is bright yellow with orange and red tones around the head, making the bird appear as if glowing from within. Sun Conures are playful, affectionate, and love being the centre of attention. They bond closely with people and often try to take part in everything happening at home. They can be loud, especially when calling for their owner or expressing joy, but this vibrant emotionality is what makes them so lively and endearing. In the wild, they are found in South America, living in small groups and flying over forests with their clear, joyful calls.
Alexandrine parakeet
The Alexandrine Parakeet is a large, graceful parrot with a noble appearance and calm temperament. Its plumage combines deep green shades with distinctive red “shoulder patches” on the wings, making it easily identifiable. These parrots are intelligent, even-tempered, and capable of learning quite a few words, though they usually speak more softly than many other species. Alexandrines form bonds with people and enjoy attention, yet they are typically not demanding and behave with dignity. In the wild, they inhabit South and Southeast Asia, living in forests and parks. They are named after Alexander the Great, who, according to legend, brought them to Europe.
Black-headed Parrot (Caique)
The Black-headed Caique is a little ball of energy — one of the most playful and active parrots you can meet. Its black head, white belly, and vivid green-and-orange feathers create a striking, almost toy-like appearance that is impossible to ignore. Caiques are incredibly lively and love physical activity: they hop, tumble, run, and even jump like tiny acrobats. Highly social, they form strong bonds with people and enjoy interactive play, training, and communication. In the wild, caiques live in the tropical forests of South America, often found in small groups, famous for their cheerful, infectious personalities.
Monk Parakeet (Quaker Parrot)
The Monk Parakeet, also known as the Quaker Parrot, is an incredibly sociable and charming bird with its distinctive green feathers and soft grey “vest” on the chest. These parrots are famous for their friendly nature and their ability to bond quickly with people, becoming true companions. Monk Parakeets are very intelligent, learn words and phrases exceptionally well, and their speech can be surprisingly clear. In the wild, they live in South America and are known for building large, complex nests made of twigs — multi-storey “homes” where whole families live together. Thanks to their cleverness, energy, and lively personality, Monk Parakeets have long been among the most beloved pet parrots in the world.
Budgerigars
Budgerigars are small, cheerful, and incredibly friendly little birds that easily become family favourites. Their plumage comes in many colours — from the classic green-yellow to blue-white and even rare varieties, making each budgie uniquely beautiful. These parrots are very social, love to chirp, imitate sounds, and quickly get used to people, especially if you talk to them and give them attention. Budgerigars are active and curious: they love flying, exploring toys, and arranging their own little aerial adventures around the room. In the wild, they live in Australia, travel in large flocks, and are known for their playful temperament and impressive endurance.
Cockatiels
Cockatiels — or Nymph Cockatoos — are gentle, friendly, and very charming parrots, easily recognised by their expressive crest that rises or falls depending on their mood. Their colours vary from classic grey to yellow, white, and speckled patterns, while their orange “cheeks” make them especially adorable. Cockatiels are affectionate, sociable, and enjoy spending time near people, quietly whistling their sweet melodies. They learn quickly and can pick up simple sounds and whistles, although they rarely speak. In the wild, cockatiels live in Australia, fly in small flocks, and are known for their calm disposition and friendly, affectionate nature.
Lovebirds
Lovebirds are small, vibrant, and deeply devoted parrots, named for their strong lifelong bond with their partner. These birds adore spending time together: they preen each other’s feathers, sit closely side by side, and almost always stay in pairs, which is why they are a symbol of loyalty. Lovebirds come in different species and colours — from green and yellow to blue and peach — each with its own bright charm. They are active, curious, and playful, and their lively chirping brings a joyful atmosphere to any home. In the wild, lovebirds live in Africa in small flocks, known for their energetic, social, and affectionate nature.
Rosellas
Rosellas are vibrant, energetic, and remarkably beautiful Australian parrots that look like small living paintings. Their plumage combines rich shades of red, yellow, blue, and green, making each bird appear as if it were hand-painted. Rosellas are fairly independent, yet curious, and they enjoy observing people from a comfortable distance. They produce melodic chirps and whistles, and with good care they may even try to mimic simple words or tunes. In the wild, rosellas live in Australia and Tasmania, preferring forests, parks, and shrublands where they fly actively and delight the eye with their striking appearance.
Barraband's Parrots
Barraband's parrots are rare, elegant, and uniquely refined birds that immediately attract attention with their noble appearance. Their plumage features calm green tones with subtle blue and red accents, while their expressive face with a dark “mask” makes them especially recognizable. These parrots are gentle, affectionate, and quite delicate — they appreciate peace and comfort, and they form strong bonds with people who treat them with softness and care. Barraband's parrots are not very loud; their voices are mild and pleasant, making them perfect for creating a cozy and peaceful atmosphere at home. In the wild, they are found in New Caledonia and are considered rather rare, which makes them especially valued among parrot enthusiasts.
Cyanoramphus (Kakariki)
Kakarikis are funny, incredibly active, and energetic parrots from New Zealand that simply cannot sit still. Their bright green plumage with a red “cap” on the head makes them very noticeable and easy to recognize. These birds love running along the ground, hopping around, exploring hidden corners, and constantly inventing new games — at times they seem more like little feathered monkeys than traditional parrots. Kakarikis are curious, friendly, and quickly bond with people, especially when given plenty of interaction and interesting toys. In the wild, they live in New Zealand’s forests and shrublands, showing the same tireless activity and cheerful temperament.
Green-Cheeked Parakeet (Pyrrhuras)
Pyrrhuras are small, charming, and very lively parrots that adore interaction and quickly become household favourites. Their plumage usually features soft, natural shades of green, brown, blue, or reddish tones, yet it always looks striking thanks to their contrasting tail feathers. Pyrrhuras have a friendly and curious temperament: they enjoy sitting on your shoulder, exploring everything around them, and softly “chatting” with their gentle little sounds. These parrots are intelligent, active, and wonderfully suited for hand-rearing — with proper care and attention, they become incredibly affectionate companions. In the wild, Pyrrhura parakeets are found in South America, living in small flocks and known for their energetic and joyful nature.
Blue-fronted Amazon
Amazons are large, bright, and highly charismatic parrots, famous for their intelligence, voice, and strong personalities. Their plumage is typically green but decorated with vivid patches of yellow, blue, or red, depending on the species, making each Amazon uniquely beautiful. These birds are incredibly social, excellent at learning words and phrases, and can speak expressively, with intonation, like little actors. Amazons love attention, form strong bonds with their humans, and enjoy being involved in family life — but they also require respect for their emotions and plenty of mental stimulation. In the wild, they inhabit the tropical forests of Central and South America, forming loud, friendly flocks and are admired for their cleverness and powerful voices.
Red-Shouldered Macaw or Hahn’s Macaw (Mini Macaw)
The Hahn’s Macaw — also known as the Mini Macaw — is a small, elegant, and wonderfully charming representative of the macaw family, loved for its gentle nature. Despite its modest size, this parrot retains the classic “macaw charisma”: vibrant feathers, expressive eyes, and a lively temperament. Mini Macaws are friendly, bond quickly with people, and enjoy spending time nearby — playing, learning, or simply sharing quiet moments. They are intelligent, talkative, and can learn a variety of sounds and simple words. In the wild, Mini Macaws inhabit Central and South America, living in small flocks and are known for their curiosity, activity, and sociable nature.
Patagonian Conure
The Patagonian Conure is a large, striking, and very energetic bird that immediately stands out with its distinctive plumage: an olive-green back, greyish chest, and bright orange patches on the belly. These parrots are lively, love interaction, and form strong bonds with humans, becoming active and curious companions. Patagonian Conures are highly intelligent, easily learn tricks, enjoy games, and constantly look for new activities to keep themselves busy. In the wild, they are found in Argentina and Chile, where they live in colonies and form large, noisy groups. Thanks to their combination of cleverness, charisma, and vivid appearance, the Patagonian Conure is considered one of the most fascinating species to keep — especially in spacious environments.
Slaty-headed Parakeet (Himalayan Parrot)
The Himalayan Parrot is a slender, bright, and very graceful bird, valued for its calm nature and refined appearance. Its plumage combines soft green shades with expressive accents on the head and chest, giving it a truly noble look. These parrots are neat, friendly, and usually quiet, making them easy to live with and not disruptive. Himalayan Parrots are curious, enjoy observing their surroundings, and delight in playing with toys that require problem-solving. In the wild, they are found in the Himalayan region, inhabiting forested areas and known for their peaceful, balanced temperament, making them excellent feathered companions.
Rose-ringed parakeet or Kramer Parrot
The Kramer Parrot is a slender, bright, and very active ring-necked parrot, easily recognizable by its slim build and long, graceful tail. Its plumage is usually light green, while adult males develop the characteristic black and pink ring on their neck, making them especially striking. These parrots are intelligent, energetic, and fairly independent, but with proper handling they quickly bond with humans and become social, curious companions. Kramer Parrots love to fly, explore, and actively engage with their environment. In the wild, they are found in South Asia but, thanks to their adaptability, have established small urban colonies in other regions as well.
Scarlet (Red) Macaw
The Red Macaw is one of the most impressive and majestic parrots in the world — a true living legend of the tropics. Its bright red plumage, complemented by blue and yellow wing feathers, makes it look like a fiery feathered sun. These parrots have strong personalities: intelligent, sensitive, affectionate, and highly observant. Red Macaws can learn words and sounds, understand human moods well, and enjoy close interaction if they feel trust. In the wild, they are found in the tropical forests of Central and South America, flying high above the treetops and emitting loud, prolonged calls. Thanks to their exceptional beauty, intelligence, and charisma, Red Macaws are considered one of the most iconic and recognizable parrots on the planet.

Papagoide Paradiis is the first contact zoo where visitors can interact directly with parrots. In our zoo, you can feed the birds from your hands, pet them, and communicate with them.
It’s important to follow the rules when interacting with the parrots: walk carefully, follow staff instructions, and use only the special feed for the parrots. Visitors are allowed to photograph the birds without using flash and to enjoy their bright colours and unique features.
Interesting Facts
- Each of our birds has its own unique personality!
- Some parrots are especially curious, some are very gentle while others are more playful.
- A few of our birds can even “talk” in Estonian and Russian!
- Parrots are highly intelligent and emotional — they can feel joy, sadness, and even get upset, just like people. This makes observing them fascinating and full of surprises.
Papagoide Paradiis Rules
BEFORE ENTERING THE HALL:
- Sanitize your hands.
- Wear shoe covers.
- Do not bring food or drinks inside.
- Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
INSIDE THE HALL, PLEASE NOTE:
- Listen to the consultant and follow all advice when interacting with birds.
- Watch your step — birds walk around freely.
- Only special food is allowed in the diet of parrots, which can be purchased from our administrators.
STRICTLY PROHIBITED:
- Using flash when taking photos or videos.
- Shouting or scaring the parrots.
- Running inside the hall.
- Holding the birds with your hands.
- Touching the beak or kissing the birds.
RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING APPEARANCE:
- Remove accessories and glasses. We are not responsible for the safety of personal belongings.
- Birds’ claws may catch on clothing. Protective capes are available from the administrator.
- Cover moles or spots that birds might mistake for insects.
IMPORTANT!
- If rules are not followed, the administration reserves the right to refuse entry. In such cases, payments are non-refundable.
- Visitors who cause harm to the parrots or property will be required to pay the full cost of treatment or repairs.

The Blue-and-Yellow Macaw is a true tropical performer that captivates visitors from the very first moment. Its plumage combines the deep blue of its wings with a bright yellow chest, as if dressed in a sky-and-sun costume. This macaw is highly intelligent, social, and fond of attention.
